Why are Women Suing over Transvaginal Meshes?

Transvaginal or Urogynaecological meshes are used in the treatment of stress incontinence. This condition can cause women to suffer leakage from their bladder when doing various impact activities such as jumping and running, or even when coughing and sneezing. Incontinence is common in women post childbirth as well as at menopause. Almost 20% of affected women say that the condition affects their daily lives. These meshes are also offered as a treatment option for women suffering from POP(pelvic organ prolapse), which affects almost 50% of women that have had children. It occurs when the rectum, uterus or bladder (pelvic organs) sag and move out of position. This can occur when the muscles, ligaments and tissues of the pelvic floor that support theseorgans, become weak or damaged.
